The Rotary Charter is the formal document that marks the birth of the Rotary Club of Irlam, granted on 30th May 1969. It recognises the Club as an official member of Rotary International and confirms our commitment to the values, service, and fellowship that Rotary represents. Signed and sealed by Rotary leaders of the time, the Charter symbolises the moment our community joined a global movement dedicated to helping others. More than fifty years later, it stands as a proud reminder of our roots
This photograph shows a Rotary Club of Irlam meeting held at the Steelworks Club in 2015, during the presidency of David Alletson. The Club met at the Steelworks for around two years after the closure of the Rhinewood, before eventually settling into its now-familiar home at Irlam Station. The image captures a typical Rotary evening of lively discussion, reports, and plenty of good humour — a snapshot of the Club adapting, carrying on, and staying together through a period of change.
